Jewish Canadian War Veterans

For Canada and Jewish Canadians, the Second World War was the Jewish community’s most sustained war effort ever. Out of a Canadian Jewish population of approximately 167,000, almost 17,000 volunteered for active service, or more than 10 percent of the total Jewish population in Canada, and the highest percentage of any ethnic group to enlist.
