The Canadian Provost Corps (CPC) was formed in 1940 as the military police corps of the Canadian Army. They were involved in the Dieppe Raid in August 1942, and also saw action during the Italian Campaign and afterwards in Northwest Europe after the Normandy landings.

Members of the CPC also served in the Korean War and in United Nations peacekeeping missions to Cypres. The Canadian Provost Corps was absorbed into the Security and Intelligence Brance of the Canadian Armed Forces in February 1968.
