Canadian Forces
The Canadian Forces are the unified armed forces of Canada. The Canadian Forces consists of the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN), the Canadian Army, and the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). Formerly, each branch operated under separate command structures until 1968 when the different branches were unified into the Canadian Forces.
The Canadian Forces operate out of 27 branch-specific bases across the country, and are responsible for the defence of Canada itself, the defence of North America in cooperation with US forces, and our contribution to broader international security.
