Canadian Parachute Corps

The 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion was formed on July 1st, 1942. They became the first Canadian troops to land in Normandy on D-Day, June 6th, 1944. They fought in the Ardennes Forest, the Battle of the Bulge and advanced deeper into Germany than any other Canadian unit during the Second World War. They were disbanded in September 1945.

Motto, Ex coelis, is Latin for "From the Clouds".
