National Volunteer Week
This week is National Volunteer Appreciation Week! It is a great time to reflect on the contributions of volunteers nationwide. From curating local history exhibitions to leading walking tours, volunteers continue to play a vital role in bringing our museums and galleries to life. They also play an important role in preserving our heritage for future generations. As archivists, tour guides, shop attendants, and reservists, volunteers work tirelessly to catalog artifacts and ensure that they are properly cared for. Without the dedication of these individuals, many priceless pieces of history would be lost forever.
Daily, volunteers at the Military Museum can be found giving tours, conducting research, and providing administrative support. On any given day, you might find a volunteer working in the library, preparing exhibits for display, or cataloging new additions to the collection. Whatever their role, they are an integral part of the Military Museums team. We are grateful for all that they do to support our work and preserve our history.
This week, take the time to thank all volunteers for their hard work and dedication, without their efforts, our cultural institutions would not be the same. Without the dedication of curators, volunteers, archivists, and reservists, the museums would not be able to provide the public with access to important military history. Their work is essential in keeping the museums running smoothly and ensuring that visitors have a positive experience.
