Author Presentation of NITANIS: The Story of Mary Greyeyes

Join us on Family Day at The Military Museums for a special author presentation of NITANIS: The Story of Mary Greyeyes Reid, a compelling book that honours the life and legacy of Mary Greyeyes Reid—the first Indigenous woman to serve in the Canadian Women’s Army Corps and a figure featured in The Military Museums’ 191 Indigenous Blessing mural.

This 45-minute presentation offers a varied and engaging program, combining visual storytelling, personal reflection, and audience participation. The author, Deidre Galbraith, Mary Greyeyes Reid’s niece, brings a deeply personal perspective to the story, supported by contributions from the book’s creative and publishing team.

  • Interactive activity led by the book’s graphic artist
  • Slideshow presentation by the publisher
  • Author presentation sharing the story of Mary Greyeyes Reid
  • Audience Q&A session

A book signing will follow the presentation.
