Donating an Artefact to TMM
The Military Museums welcomes the donation of historical material to our archival collection. This can include any artefacts, memorabilia, medals, journals, log books, archival film, video and other items of historical significance related to Canada's involvement in global conflicts.
Articles related to the three branches of the Armed Services from any era back to before Confederation are welcomed, including material related to the founding regiments of The Military Museums in Western Canada. Donations of books, manuscripts or posters can be made to the University of Calgary Library & Archives using the donation form below.
Donation Guidelines
The Museum receives hundreds of offers annually, and each offer is considered in turn. Please be aware that the evaluation and acquisitions process can be lengthy. Your patience and support of Canadian military history are appreciated.
Please note that any objects and/or archival material accepted into The Military Museums collection may be interpreted or displayed in accordance with the Museum’s exhibition and program requirements. Acquisition of objects and/or archival material by the Museum does not guarantee public exhibition, and the Museum does not accept donations offered with conditions.

Artefact Donation Form
Please use this form to request information on artefact donations to The Military Museums. Use the email drop-down box to direct your request to the appropriate gallery or museum. All the individual museums listed and the University of Calgary Library & Archives are all part of The Military Museums.
For donations of books, manuscripts, military documents or posters, please select the University of Calgary Library & Archives. If you aren't sure which recipient to choose, please select "Unsure / TMM Collections".
In order to streamline the donation offer process, please provide as much information as possible.
