Indigenous Relations and Canada Tour - QEII Atrium

This guided tour explores Indigenous stories from the 18th century to today, highlighting the experiences, struggles and contributions of Indigenous Peoples and their relationship with Canada and the Canadian Armed Forces.

The tour will conclude in Cooper-Key Hall, where visitors can continue with a special exhibition on Sgt Tommy Prince.

Special Exhibition: Sgt Tommy Prince and the First Special Service Force

Location: Cooper-Key Hall

Learn about Sgt Tommy Prince, a residential school survivor and distinguished Second World War veteran who served with the First Special Service Force, an elite commando unit composed of Canadian and U.S. soldiers.

Expert interpretation of the exhibition will be provided.

Content advisory: Programming includes discussion of sensitive topics, including cultural oppression, residential schools and the Indian Act.

Explore the stories of Indigenous veterans served with the Canadian armed forces during both World Wars. Coming from different tribes from across the country, Indigenous veterans brought unique skills to the Canadian forces and played a valuable role in our ultimate success.
