What does the extensive use of Iranian missile and drone attacks in the recent war in the Middle East tell us about the direction of future warfare and the challenges this poses for air and missile defence?
Dr Ash Rossiter is a defence consultant and academic whose work addresses some of the most pressing contemporary military international security challenges. Until August 2026, he was head of research and associate professor in defence at the UAE’s tri-service national military university. In addition to writing and lecturing widely on defence industry policy, emerging military technology, and near-future warfare, Ash’s insights and expertise are regularly sought by governments and major international firms. He has published an extensive range of books, articles and thought pieces on defence, including his most recent monograph, Warfare in the Robotics Age, published in 2024 by US academic press Lynne Reinner.
