Italian Battlefield Remembrance Tour

Join Valour Canada for a special evening on June 25 at The Military Museums to learn about our 2026 Italian Battlefield Remembrance Tour running from November 1–14, 2026.

The 2026 Italian Battlefield Remembrance Tour is more than a tour—it is an opportunity to connect with Canada's legacy in the Italian Campaign of the Second World War and reflect on the sacrifices made by those who served.

This remembrance-focused experience will bring Canadians face-to-face with the history, sacrifice, and legacy of the Canadian Army during the Italian Campaign, including visits to key locations such as Ortona and the Liri Valley.

Along the way, you will gain a deeper understanding of the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of the Canadians who served there. To learn more about the tour and meet our expert guide, Dr. Vicki Sotvedt, we invite you to attend this information session. Seating is limited.

At the event, you will:

  • Meet tour historian and guide Dr. Vicki Sotvedt
  • Listen to Captain Sheldon K. E. Smith speak about the Lord Strathcona's Horse's involvement in the Italian Campaign
  • Discover some of the remarkable stories connected to the places we will visit and learn what makes the tour unique
  • Ask questions and explore whether this journey is right for you

Whether you have a personal connection to military service or a passion for Canadian military history, this event is an excellent opportunity to learn more about a truly meaningful travel experience!
