14th Canadian Army Tank Regiment
The 14th Canadian Army Tank Regiment (Calgary Regiment), was mobilized in February 1941. In August 1942, the regiment took part in the Dieppe Raid, the first tank regiment of the Canadian Army to go into battle. Redesignated the 14th Armoured Regiment in August 1943, they took part in the Invasion of Sicily, then moved to the Adriatic where they fought in the Italian Campaign.
They returned to Europe in March 1945 where they took part in the liberation of Holland. After the war the regiment served on numerous United Nations Peacekeeping missions including Bosnia, Croatia, Cyprus and Afghanistan.
