The Queen's Own Rifles of Canada (QOR) is Canada's oldest rifle regiment. They were formed in 1860 as the Second Battalion, Volunteer Militia Rifles of Canada, and in 1882 their name was changed to the 2nd Battalion "Queen's Own Rifles of Canada". They served in the Northwest Rebellion in 1885, and during the First World War, they distinguished themselves by fighting in almost every major battle of the war, earning 4 Victoria Crosses.

The Regiment also fought during the Second World War, landing at Juno Beach on D-Day. In recent times they have served on peacekeeping duties in several countries including Korea, Cyprus and with NATO forces in Germany during the Cold War.

Motto, "In Pace Paratus", which is Latin for, "In Peace Prepared".
