Bob O'Connor (1924 - 2013) was born in Red Deer, Alberta in 1924. When Bob turned eighteen in 1942 he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and was eventually posted to #10 Air Observation School in New Brunswick where he became a pilot officer.
He was then posted to the #1655 Mosquito Training Unit in Oxfordshire, England where Bob and his skipper were assigned to the Pathfinders and were posted to RAF Squadron #627 at Woodhall. Their squadron was tasked with flying the DH Mosquito during bombing raids while providing precise targeting for Bomber Command crews.
