Rudy Deutsch

5th Field Ambulance

Rudy Deutsch (1922 - 2015) joined the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps (RCAMC) as a reinforcement in January, 1943 and was sent to the Mediterranean in July, 1943 where he served with the 67 British Field Hospital in Algeria.

He was later sent to Italy where he joined the 5th Field Ambulance in support of the Canadian First Infantry Division's 2nd Brigade. He served during the Battle of the Moro River and Ortona. In Feb 1945 he was sent to Europe where he participated in the liberation of Holland.
