Jane Todd

Scottish War Bride

Jane Todd (1926 - ) was 13 when the Second World War broke out in Europe. Four years later she met a soldier from the Loyal Edmonton Regiment at a dance, Jimmy Todd. Jimmy had served in the Italian Campaign, Ortona and then the Liberation of Holland. They got married in 1945 when he was on one-week leave from fighting in Holland. After the war they returned to Canada on separate ships, and settled in rural Alberta where they raised their family.
