Kay Luna

Royal Canadian Navy
Korean War 1950-51

Kay Luna was born in Denmark in 1927. In 1935 his family moved to Canada and settled in Redcliff, Alberta. Too young to enlist during the Second World War, Kay joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1946 at the age of 18 as a radio operator with HMCS Cayuga.

After the Korean War broke out the HMCS Cayuga and several other Canadian Navy destroyers were sent to the Pacific. The HMCS Cayuga arrived in July 1950 and remained on patrol supporting the war effort until April 1951.
