Harry Edwards

Korean War 1952-53

Harry Edwards (1928 - 2017) was born in Hamilton, Ontario. Harry joined the Army during the Second World War as a drummer for a light Anti-Aircraft battery at the age of 15. At 17 he re-enlisted in Toronto in 1945 and entered training expecting to be sent to the Pacific theatre. After the war ended his unit was tasked with guarding German prisoners until they could be sent back to Germany. In 1948 he joined the PPCLI and in 1950 the battalion was sent overseas to serve in the Korean War.
