Sgt Anthony Lapthorn was born in Plymouth, United Kingdom, and served in the British Army prior to enrolling in the Canadian Armed Forces in 1997. He is a member of 20th Independent Field Battery (RCA) in Lethbridge. He deployed to Afghanistan in 2007.
